Problem with net connection after using USB device

I lose my internet access (Speedtouch modem with USB connection)after using
a USB device pen drive external hard drive The connection appears to be there
but won't work I have to reboot - then all's fine.

The Speedtouch modem is working OK and all the USB Hubs are as well,
according to Device Manager.

I assume this is a USB proble but it's a new one on me. Any ideas, please?

Each USB Host Controller has a limited amount of Bandwidth, you might
want to check the loading in Device Manager on the Advanced (TAB)
for each of your Host Controllers. Also watch out for power loading as
each channel can only provide 500 mA - But XP should post a warning
if that were the case.

Not only does the USB ports have a b andwidth issue but they seem to have a
power issue. I just got a wireless UBS adapter and when I plug it into my
PC's USB port, I loose access to all my "other" USB devices. Fortuneately,
I also have several powered USB hubs. When I moved my wireless adapter onto
one of my hubs, every thing was working corretly again.

Test with a powered hub.
