Problem with loading software

I have been having a problem loading software onto my computer, especially games for my kids. I keep getting the following message:
16 bit windows subsystem
C:\windows\system32\AUTOEXEC>NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.
Can you please help me fix this?

sounds like you are trying to load older games. Please provide names and
version numbers for better answers.

Also check the Game mfg web site for info on installing there software on XP

I have been trying to load the game shutes and ladders for the kids and some
printer CD's for my mom, things we had on the computer before, but now I
can't get anything to work. I even tried to load Simply Accounting the other
day and got the message. Can you help?

Try runing the XP repair from the control panel. Might be a corrupt file or
you might have lost a piece of the HD.

Hi
I'm also having the same problem with "The Sims". It worked before, but for
some reason, that error message pops up.
