problem after running REPAIR

R

After system reported missing system32\l_intl.nls file I couldn't effect a
repair using Repair Console or Repair Emergency Disk.
So I ran Install Windows 2000 and choose Repair option.

Now, whenever I access any previous logon profile I receive a Windows
Installer - Preparing to Install dialogue box, but nothing installs.
When I attempt to Open Outlook2000 or Word2000 (installed from Office2000
Small Business) I get the Windows Installer box also. And a message to run
Detect and Repair. When I run Detect and repair I receive the following
error message: "Windows installer: this patch package cannot be opened.
Contact application vendor to verify that this is sa valid windows installer
patch."

Now...how could it not be valid if it's being invoked from a valid Windows
(MS at that) application?

Attempting to run the setup.exe from the original Office200 SB CD yeilds the
same error message.

This happens logged on as Administror either of the other two profiles on
this machine.

Also...FWIW...after the Win2Kpro repair I receive an error message saying
that MacAfee Active Sheild is not installed correctly. This was working
properly prior to the repair.
