Printer Spooler service not working

Hi,
earlier i was using Windows 2000,before two days i formatted my PC and
install widows XP sp2.now i am facing one problem while i am trying to
install my printer,it gives me a error that printer spooler service is not
started.hen i started it manually.but frequentlly it will automatically
stopped.so now whenever i want to print first i have to start print spooler
service and it will be automatically stopped after a minute.so tell me how
can i fix this error.

printer s/he is using, so that is making an unfounded assumption.

The next step is to ask the OP:

1. What printer do you have - make and model?
2. How are you installing - software first and then connecting printer?
3. Did you check to make sure the printer is supported under XP?

Then wait for the answers because otherwise it is a waste of time to
speculate.
