Print Spooler Problems

I keep getting a message telling me that my Spooler SubSystem App has
encountered a problem and needs to close. I have gone into Control
Panel/Adminstration/Services and restart the Spooler, but it stops again
almost immediately.

The error report sent to Microsoft contain the following

C:\DOCUME~1\LPerry\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER5ac7.dir00\spoolsv.exe.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\LPerry\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER5ac7.dir00\appcompat.txt

I am open to suggestions as to how to fix this problem. We have a festival
coming up in 2 weeks and I REALLY need to be able to print.
