Posting this in case anyone here has an older "Prime Film" slide scanner
and hasn't been able to find updated drivers.

One major loss for me when my win98 box went down was that our "Prime
Film" slide scanner (very important to those of us with artist mates)
didn't offer XP drivers... there were drivers posted at several third
party "driver sites" which claimed support XP, but ended up crashing XP
hard.

Good things come to those who wait? I made a number of searches for the
Prime Film's XP drivers without success several months ago.

In the interum, Pacific Image (which is the new company name) apparently
posted XP drivers for the 1800 series single slide scanners...

Just installed and tested them and they work.

This was a major issue for us as the slide scanner was at the top of our
"need list" and replacement cost was going to be near $300.

Now, if I could only find drivers for my old HP workhorse... the
LaserJet 1100A scanner pod... the only thing I have ever seen which auto
feeds _small_ documents such as business cards and checks.

I'm, sadly, admitting defeat with respect to my venerable scsi ScanJet
5p ;-)

There are even drivers for Vista 32 and 64 bit:

Possibly not. Manufacturer and model?

Thank you... the scanner appears to now work.

I had been to the hp site and downloaded drivers with the same date, but
they didn't work... perhaps they were from the consumer rather than
the office side... keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm not going to go there... will start looking for a newer flatbed or
multifunction to do this job.

It's an HP ScanJet 5p but the scsi card is a major factor... XP
compatible scsi cards cost more than a new usb flatbed and the two pci
scsi cards I have are not happy under XP.

In addition, I had been noticing that the scanner lamp (color quality)
had been diminishing before the crash, so I'm simply thankful for the
many thousands of scans it has provided over the years.

Thanks again,

In support that all stays well I've crossed mine also, although only for a short
while. I need them to hold/tilt the barley pops on my b-day in 2 days.
Holy buffalo chips, I totally missed that!

SCSI is pretty much on the heals of ISA in becoming a thing of the past.

Hopefully the replacement brings as much and more years of "your service".
Thanks again,

You're quite welcome, ( a bit of mojo) Enjoy!!
