PPTP VPN Windows 2000 won't use network adapter

Hello,
I'm attempting to setup a PPTP VPN connection through the LAN. I select the
option to connect directly to the internet, but the connection tries to
connect using the modem. In the "General " tab of the connection the modem is
the only device under "Connect using". Does anyone know why my network
adapter doesn't show up? I don't want to make the connection over the modem.
I want to connect using the LAN.
Thanks in Advance,
Steve

Assuming you are trying to setuo incoming VPN, this may help. quoted from http://www.howtonetworking.com/vpnsetup.htm
To create VPN connection, open Networking Connections>New Connection Wizard>Set up an advanced connection>Accept incoming connections. Click Next without selecting modem or other devices if you try to setup PPTP VPN. Then follow the instruction.

Don't send e-mail or reply to me except you need consulting services. Posting on MS newsgroup will benefit all readers and you may get more help.
