PPT screenshow on extended desktop?

(I tried first on the XP group, but no answer - maybe I asked the wrong
people, so I'm trying here.)

With XP Pro, I extended my desktop onto a second screen.

Then I opened PowerPoint, opened a PPT-2003 file, and moved it over to
the second screen to work on it.

At some point I clicked "Screen Show", and the screen show came up on
.... the first screen.

Why didn't it come up on the second screen, and is there anything I can
do to get it onto the second screen?

(This actually has practical applications -- I tried to use the extended
desktop technique to attach a projector as the second screen - but if I
can't get the screen show to appear on the second screen, then, well,
forget that idea.)
