Powerpoint should let me pick slides to print

Powerpoint: Print Menu. Print Range. When selecting Slides, you should have
the ability to point and pick the slides directly off the left hand pane in
normal view

You can do this in the Slide Sorter view. Select your slides, then Print,
then select Selection

This feature is already there. You can select the slides that you want to
print. Hold the Ctrl key as you continue selecting the slides. Then select
"File" | "Print..." menu item. In the "Print range" section, select
"Selection" option. This way you get the selected slides printed.
