powerpoint - saving grouped photos as .png or .jpeg?

Can anyone help with this issue? I get a presentation from a client and
whenever they group a series of photos, it becomes an .emf file. When I
send it to someone who is on a MAC, those files appear as black boxes.

The ideal would be a way to set PowerPoint to always save groups as .png
or .jpeg files. Can I do this is PowerPoint 2003?

Try this:
Group the images. Then, click Edit > Cut or Ctrl-X to cut the grouped image.
Click Edit > Paste Special.
Select .png format.

Thank you from the depths! This was so annoying when dealing with my MAC
client. I never would have thought of "Paste Special."

When you rightclick and Save As Picture, I'd guess.

Group the photos, press Ctrl+C to copy them, then Paste Special, as PNG.
Rightclick and save the newly pasted PNG instead of the original group.
Then delete the PNG if you like.
