Powerpoint 2003 viewer for Windows NT users?

Hello,

I am making a technology decision in preparing training materials -- most
people in my company are still in a Windows NT environment (using PowerPoint
97), but we are all migrating over to Windows XP/Office 2003 over the next
year.

I'd like to use PowerPoint 2003 to develop the materials, but need for both
the Windows NT users and the Windows XP users to be able to view the
animations.

We tried loading the 2003 viewer on an NT machine, but it doesn't work. Any
ideas?

My only other option, unfortunately, is to use PowerPoint 97 to develop the
materials (per company directive)...

Thanks!

I did check the requirements beforehand, and understood that it was not
"supported" in the NT environment, but also doublechecked it by testing.

By disabling new animation effects, does that mean those effects available
only in 2003? Or all animation? I was under the impression that the 97
viewer for 2003 presentations would not allow any 2003 animations...

As it says, it only disables new features - - those not supported by the
PowerPoint 97 Viewer. It basically gives you PowerPoint 97/2000 in a 2003
wrapper.
