Powerpoint 2000 conflict with Outlook 2003

I have a new Dell that came with Office 2003 basic installed. I need
Powerpoint, and have an older disk for Office 2000 Premium. I want to load
Powerpoint 2000 on this computer, but each time I try, my Outlook goes bye
bye. When I try to click on the start menu icon for outlook, I get the
Internet Options box to come up. If I use the quick launch icon, I get a 2
year old version of my email. So I have removed Powerpoint 2000 and now my
email works. I tried putting the Powerpoint 2000 on an older computer I have
running Office 2002, and it works fine there with no Outlook issues. What is
going on. Is there a fatal conflict between Outlook 2003 and Powerpoint 2000?

Hi,

This can also depend on Windows version. Basically, the best option is to
install them in increasing version. that is, if you have 200 and 2003,
install the older one first and tell the second one to keep the previous
version and not replace it. This will help explain your options:

Can I install multiple versions of PowerPoint / Office?
