Power Point Viewer

I am trying to get my new computer set up with Windows Vista. I would like
to have Power Point Viewer available. Is there a download for this from
Microsoft?

I haven't been able to find it.

Thanks,

S.

Yes.

Then you haven't looked very hard. I just went to Google and typed
powerpoint viewer. I suggest you do the same.

You don't say which version of the viewer you want but go to the link
beloow, click the version of office of interest, click PowerPoint, then
click Viewers:

There is a download from OpenOffice.org - I believe that MS does not have
a PP viewer.

Not true ray and you probably know it's not true.! You keep promoting
that substandard Oo, which you and I both know is not a real substitute
for MS Office.
There are multiple PP viewers available and always have been.
Shame on you!

See the earlier replies in the thread for the download. Yes, Microsoft has
PowerPoint viewers as they have Word viewers, Excel viewers, etc.

Thanks for the info - I stand corrected.

Thanks for your pointed suggestion. I had done that, but was trying to find
one specifically for Windows Vista.

Michael,

Thank you, that is exactly what I needed. Microsoft Download Center has
PowerPoint Viewer 2007 that is supported in Windows Vista. I had done early
searches at that site, but didn't come up with this result.

First my apologies if my suggestion was overly pointed, but it would
have helped if you had started by telling us what you had tried.

No, there is no issue of finding one specifically for Vista. It's not
an operating system issue at all. The only issue is one of finding an
appropriate one for the version of PowerPoint that was used to create
the files you want to view. In general, you usually need at least as
recent a viewer as the file you want to open. So PP viewer 2007 can
open a PP 2003 file, but PP viewer 2003 may not be able to open a
PP2007 file properly.

You're welcome, FoxySharmin.
