Power options wont work

I have a Dell laptop 1520, not even a year old. When I setup the Power
Options to turn off the Display after "X" minutes or shut down.....none of
those features work or it stays on all the time.

How can I get those features to work?

If less than one year old, best bet is to call Dell.
