Possible Virus???

D

Denise Killeen

For five consecutive days now I have received an e-mail
stating "Use this patch immediately". The sender's
address is "(e-mail address removed)"; however, my virus
software (Norton) captures is and reports that the
attachment named "patch.exe" is a virus
called "W32.Dumaru@mm". It then deletes it. I did
download the patch to prevent the Blaster Worm from the
Microsoft website and the ususal updates for XP.

Has anyone else received anything like this? Does anyone
know what it is? I have tried over and over to send an e-
mail direct to Microsoft but have failed.

Someone please help if you can. What is this? Thanks.

Denise;
Lots of us have received these Emails.
Your AV is catching them and deleting them so you are OK.

Just remember NEVER open an unexpected attachment from anyone
including someone you know.

This has been around a short while.
The attachment is a virus.
Delete the Email and attachment immediately.

Microsoft sends security updates but NEVER with attachments.

On the rare occasion Microsoft sends a file, you would be expecting it
in advance and know exactly what it is.
