poss. blaster worm

Hi,
I keep getting the windows NT shutdown because of a
remote procedure call problem, exactly like the blaster
worm, however, the blaster worm fix says the virus is not
found. Whenever I try to install the patch to fix
whatever hole it comes in through i get as far as the
install button after the next key and the whole thing
just dissapears and it wont install. this dissapearing
act is also happening with one other program as well.
Any Ideas of what could be the problem here, i tried to
install the patch from a disc as well as from the
microsoft center.
