popups while closing the IE6.0 window

Hi

I have windows2000 server and IE6.0 with latest
service packs ,Symantec antivirus and Zonealarm basic
installed on my machine(desktop).

During recent days I have a problem with popupwindows
(Advertisements).
when ever I close the IE window a new popup window is
comming up,I disconnected the internet and tried couple
of times opening and closing the IE window, even when I am
diconnected with internet also I am getting the
popups with content "page cannot be displayed" while
closing the IE ,

I tried a lot of options in internet options and security
of IE,none of them worked

I have Google toolbar to block the popups but this is not
able stop the popups that
generates at the close of IE.

I have scanned all the drives with symantec antivirus,no
virus found.

I tried reinstalling the IE,also tried SPYbot,they didn't
help me,

I also tried with different logins(hoping that my docs and
settings have some problem),they didn't work.

IS there any unwanted programmes installed in my IE6.0
registry???

Any help getting me out of this problem is greately
appriciated

thanks in advance
Sai

This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware, parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

The best way is to block the server from tracking you in the first place
Blocking Ads with a Hosts File and AdShield. Under the Security Tab download
the hosts.zip file.
