Please help on Networking XP & 2000

We recently change our PDC from WinNT to Win2K Server. We have build the
Win2k PDC from scratch and we created the users & access rights as in we are
installing a new PDC. Everything goes well with the installation.

Our problem is when we log-on from the WinXP workstations, it takes long
time to bring up the desktop, it stays on the screen saying "Applying
Network Connections..." for about few minutes before launching the desktop.
It works as normal if we use the WinXP local account. This is true on all
user accounts and all workstations.

We tried to rebuild the Win2K PDC from scratch but it gave us same result.

Please help.

Thanks in advance,

Garry

Either one or the other of the tips below might help:

Run gpedit.msc and follow this path:
- Computer Configuration
- Administrative Templates
- System
- Logon
- Change "Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon" to
ENABLED.

Or: Run regedit and navigate to this spot:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current
Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace
Delete {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}.

Also make sure the XP clients are configured to use the DNS server
containing the AD domain records and NOT an ISP DNS server.
