We have a Windows 2000 network of PCs connected to a Red Hat Linux file
server in a standard client-server network and I have found that when the
login user name changes on the Win2K box, the user gets presented with an
entirely new (default) desktop and server logins. Is there any way of
copying the settings from one user to another to save time in
replacing/moving PCs?
The Linux server is configured as a stand-alone server. I understand that
if it was configured as a PDC then we could use some kind of "Roaming
Profiles" to overcome this. A PDC would not be my first choice even
though Linux does the job perfectly, but this may be the only option.
Any help would be appreciated.
