Playback speed

I recently installed Movie Maker on my XP Pro PC. When I import a MPEG and perview it it plays fine, when I drag it into the storyboard and play it, the video plays at 2x speed (with assosiated comical voice).
Any idea as to why?

I have noticed that too, it happened to me as well. I think it is a memory
buffer issue. There are no settings that I can find to increase the buffer,
but reasoning behind thin is because when I click pause for a few seconds
then play again it played fine for a while until it happened again. It has
only really happened when I have a big filmstrip/storyboard that I am
editing. Hope this helps.

Playback/importing of MPEG2 content is completely dependant on the third
party MPEG2 decoder installed on your computer. Most do not work well. See
the Importing Source Files... Video... MPEG2 page of www.papajohn.org
