'Play all' won't do so...

Before my compy was reformatted and everything re-installed (and before all
other reformats i've done) the 'Play all' and 'Play selection' options in
music folders always loaded the songs right into WMP and started playing them.
I'm not sure, but i think during this latest re-installment of XP (Home) it
hasn't worked at all, or it might have right at the start - can't quite
remember unfortunately.

Does anyone know why this is? I now have to 'Ctrl+A' to select all folders,
right click and then 'Play', or 'Play in Media player' or something.

While i'm here, is there a way to keep folder thumbnails there? They usually
disappear for a while or change to another image altogether. :s

Thanks for any/all your help!

Andrew.

Nope - didn't work. It adds all the media files into the library when you
'search for all media' okay, but if you're in a folder with music in it and
click the 'Play all' or 'Play selection' link/s in the Common Tasks sidebar
it won't open Media Player, or start playing them if it is already open. :(

Sounds like your library is partially broken... ?
Does
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary
fix you up?

OK, then this means that most likely something is blocking WMP from
producing the temporary file it has to create in order to pass along this
data from shell. Did you install some paranoid anti-virus or something else
about the time that this broke?

Not that i know of, the computer is basically the same as it was before the
last formatting, minus a few programmes, like QuickTime.
