"pictures could not be found" in forwarded email

A similar thing happened to me today when I tried to attach an Excel file to
an email and when I clicked "send" I got a message saying that it couldn't
find the Excel sheet that was on my drive. Is there a separate security
setting that restricts attachments?

Was the file open in Excel? If so, that seems to be normal Vista behavior.

Fairly frequently, when I forward an email that contains an image, I get
this warning:

"One or more of the pictures in this message could not be found. When you
send this message the pictures will not be included. Are you sure you want
to send this message?"

Any idea why this is happening? Thanks.

Check your security settings:
Tools, Options, Security, uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."
and uncheck "Block images..."

I am having the same problem. I have tried your suggestions and am still
getting the message. I am trying to send pictures via email from my
"pictures" file.

I have tried using the "attach" mode and have tried copy and paste and still
get the message. If I go ahead and send it the pictures do no go through,
just the text in the body of the email.

Vista is driving me crazy in many ways, but if you could help with this one
problem I would certainly appreciate it!

The only other possibility I can think of is that your antivirus program
is interfering with the picture attachment. As a test, uninstall your
antivirus, reboot, then try sending pictures again. If you still get
an error message, copy it and post it here.

I went into tools, options, security... but then did not know what to do. I
have Vista as my operating system.

Are you getting the same error message as Rick? Usually it means
that the picture is open in some other program. Windows Mail can't
attach a picture that is open elsewhere.

Also make sure the following settings are correct:
Tools, Options, Security, uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."
and uncheck "Block images..."

Thank you Gary VanderMolen, I did what you suggested "tools, options,
security & uncheck do not allow attachments and uncheck block images & HOORAY
it worked!

I don't see a problem statement from you in this thread.
Please provide details of your issue.

Howdy Gary
I got Vista. I tried your advise but there is nothing like that in my program.
There is no "Do not allow attachements.." I have some small banners to send.
Some I can, some I don't, instead the banner I got small rectangle with a red
cross on it.
I can understant that is problem with security settings but where to fix
that? Your idea sounds logic but is unreal. PLS help.
Colas B.
