I have already tried this fix but it seems that the calcs command given in
this tip doensn't work in Windows XP home edition !
The message I get when running the calcs command

cacls.exe "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Documents" /G BUILTIN\Administrators:F
is (sorry its in french..)
"le mappage entre les noms et les ID de securité n'a pas été effectué"
Which i may translate in somthing like : The mapping between Names and
Security ID has not been performed"
Thanks if you may help.

Sorry, but that's all I have.

Some WinXP users have reported it to
work but apparently it doesn't work for
everyone. Maybe the French version of
WinXP requires different commands.

Rem78,

I too tried this fix and got the "Mapping between name and security"
notification. I had to create an Environment Variable named ALLUSERPROFILE
and point it to "c:\Documents and Settings\All Users" and then restart and
THEN I could set the directory security using those cacls.exe commands.

However, upon attempting to install PS3, I then got an error message saying
"Error creating c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\My Music". So I took a
look, and sure enough, the folder exists. So, either the installer does not
check first to see if the folder exists, or something else is wrong on my
system.

Any ideas?

-Nick

I finaly found the solution. As I have a french version of Windows XP Home,
I' ll give it in french. I hope someone can translate
I went to 'poste de travail"
Right clicked on folder "document"
left click on "proprietés"

selected "partage " option
click on" partager ce dossier sur le reseau"
and then run the installation file. It works.
