My pc goes to standby mode by itself and i cant wake it
up.in order to conrinue i have to restart it.say i
configured something like hibernation, when it restarts
it also sets everything to default, this happens mostly
when i play a game or when a floopy takes time to open.

another thing when i shut it down it gives a memory
exception while busy shutting down.whether u do something
about the exception or not,it still continues to shut
down and gives no problems when restarting

First, check the settings you have chosen in Power Settings in the
Control Panel. This needs to be configured properly. Second, what
application is it that provides the exception error?

On cheaper computers/motherboards, sleep states often do not work very
well. The implementation is very poor and the hardware does not respond
well. YOu may need to check BIOS settings as well to see if there is
anything in there (Will be called S1 and S3 States). To access the
BIOS, you usually press DEL, F1, or F2, or something like that to enter
it. There is also usually a note telling you what key to press.
