password protected folder

i had windows xp professional on my compuer and it was on C: after the
computer crashed i reinstalled windows xp on there but since my
username was password protected on the older windows, it doesnt allow
me to open up the (username) folder in documents and setting. it says
access is denied. i was wondering if someone can help me open that
folder or crack the password or something.
