password: MS Outlook 2000 "glitch"

hi ,
im using Windows XP and Windows MS OUTLOOK 2000 ver
9.0.0.2711 and i cannot seem to figure out why it
requires a password everytime i send or receive email

i already went through the fundamental steps to do that,
but its as it the password is kicked out every time after
i save it .... this is more annoying and time consuming
than anything .

would someone know if there is an academic method or do i
download a patch for this glitch ?

Go to;
start --> settings --> control panel --> mail --> services --> Internet email - "name you
gave" --> properties --> servers --> check "remember password".
