Palm Treo 700P and Documents To Go

I installed my Palm software and had it working no problem. I made the
mistake of installing the Documents To Go software b4 I checked
compatibility. After locking up the computer on hot sync, I uninstalled it.
but now when ever I reboot I get this error:
The Notifier file 'C:\Program Files\Documents To Go\SyncDlgN20.dll' Was
not found. Notifiers are used by hotsync manager to inform other
applications about synchronizations sessions Please check your
configuration
to correct this problem.
Hotsync manager will skip this file.

I found a reference in the registry for this file.
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-667740120-947673207-539467700-1000\Software\U.S.
Robotics\Pilot Desktop\HotSync Manager

How can I stop this error? I did reinstall the program and the error
stopped, however, I cant sync with it installed so I uninstalled it again
and the error came back. Can I delete the reg entry? it is listed as
Notifier0 and there is a Notifier1 through 6 after it.

Uninstall Documents to Go, uninstall the Palm software that came with the
Treo, then reinstall the Palm software.

Well, as of today, I can no longer run my palm desktop software. it opens
the splash screen and just sits there.
I went in and uninstalled it. renamed the palm folder after cold booting.
Rebooted again. Then reinstalled it. I don't get the Doc to Go error anymore
but I still cant open it. It seems to be Synching with my Treo ok but since
I cant get it to open I'm not sure. The only thing I can figure is something
that's running on the system is stopping it from loading the desktop. Any
Ideas?

I have a much older Treo 600 which I'm assuming comes with an older version
of the Palm software. I have to set both Hotsync and Palm Desktop to use XP
SP2 compatibility and also always run as administrator. Even then I usually
have to sync two or three times to get it to work. I don't know if this
applies to the Treo 700P. Here is my blog where I detail the process for the
Treo 600. You have to scroll down a bit to find it. The entry was dated Jan
8, 2007.
