Pairing to a Bluetooth Keyboard fails

The Wizard finds the keyboard, but when it asks me to type in the PIN code,
it fails:

Pairing with device 'Keyboard'
On your Bluetooth keyboard, type the following digits and press the Enter key.

Initiate Pairing
PIN Code: [empty grey box] [greyed out 'Initiate Pairing' button]

[greyed out Back, Next and Cancel buttons]

Any ideas?

You omitted to mention if you even entered anything in the PIN input
textbox. Did you?

Did you put the Bluetooth devices into pairing mode?

Security?
Pairing is when Bluetooth is vulnerable to hacking, and pairing can be
forced. Bluetooth claims that you are vulnerable for a fraction of a
second, but pairing mode remains enabled until you enter the PIN so
you'd have to type damn fast. See
http://www.bluetooth.com/Bluetooth/Connect/Devices/Generic_Pairing_Instructions.htm
on how the attack can let hackers use your Bluetooth cell phone. The
idea was that the pairing only opened a short window of opportunity
but that was under the presumption the pairing was initiated by the
owner of the device, not by a hacker. While the article is old, so is
the info at http://www.bluetooth.com/Bluetooth/Learn/Security/ which
never mentions that it is no longer the one-time pairing done by the
owner when the hacking could occur.
