Keyboars fails during startup

Hello

I got a Logitech Deluxe access keyboard which fails during startup of winXP.
By this I mean that the keyboard works fine before winXP loads if i enter
the computer setup. But as soon as the XP startup logo shows the keyboard
fail. The num lock, scroll lock and caps lock lights hangs and no keystroke
is registred by the computer

I've tried the keyboard on other computers and it works fine. In the device
manager it says:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be
corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."

When I uninstall the device and reinstalls it, it says that it cannot start
this hardware. This happens both with the newest Logitech drivers and with
the standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard

Does anyone have a solotion for this?

Best Regards

How old is your motherboard? Not sure about the very latest ones, but it
used to be that when the motherboard CMOS battery began to lose voltage,
one of the first symptoms was the keyboard error.

If you have the standard button-cell CR-2032, it costs a couple of dollars
and is really simple to change. I'd try that first.

I am having the same problem. It gets worse everytime I
try something new. Now I have lost the mouse too, so I
can't reload XP. Did you ever get an answer or figure out
the problem?
