page cannot be displayed - DNS error

Since last summer I have not been able to bring up www.disney.com without
getting the "dns error - page cannot be displayed"

I got on this site today and found out how to rename the HOST file and that
got me into Disney.com, but that has not helpedwhen I try to log in to
www.youravon.com.

I can bring up that web site, but I cannot go into my account.

I need some kind of help, please.

Hi Deanna :)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, but, try the
following and see if it helps:

Page cannot be displayed (Server or DNS error)
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/16.html

Page cannot be displayed...Cannot find server or DNS error
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/265847/EN-US/

Can't display page (Server or DNS error) or "Internet Explorer could not
open the search page" / unable to view web pages / old versions of web pages
displayed
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers.htm#dns

Check your Proxy settings. Unless you need to have a Proxy setting, "Use
proxy" should not be checked, or anything else in that area.

If you have any 3rd party toolbars such as Google, MSN or Yahoo, disable
them. If you have Yahoo Companion, uninstall it. If you have any 3rd party
software, firewall, popu or ad blockers, disable them( for testing only).

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help. I checked out all the pages and the "certificate"
information was way over my head. I am not even sure that pertains to my
computer or not. My OS is Windows XP with Internet Explorer 6. I am at my
wits end. I cannot understand why I could fix the Disney.com site by
changing the HOSTS file, but the site I really need to get into youravon.com
still displays the error message. I feel really stupid when it comes to
this. I am still searching the articles to see if something will help.
