Outlook won't run after removing GroupWise from the computer why?

Obviously outllok 2003 and groupwise are not friends. When I removed
groupwise from the computer, outlook will not open and has an error that says
"MAPI was unable to load information service gwmsp1.dll"
I cannot find anything about the issue on help pages. I have tried to
"repair" outlook but it didn't resolve the problem.....Ideas? Thanks.

Long shot but see if running the fixmapi.exe tool helps!

I had the same problem. I appears Outlook accesses the GW server through the
client and if it's uninstalled there's no portal for it to use. If this is
the case then adding the proper GW settings manually wouldn't do the trick
because Outlook doesn't connect directly to the mail server.

I had the same problem. Tryed many things then stumbled on this simple one, hope it works for you. go to any web page using explorer. cliick on the mail icon. click send page. email will open up. click help. click detect and repair. that brought everything back for me.
