Outlook won't delete files after archiving

Hello,

I have Outlook 2002. My pst file got to be too large 1.9gb so I archived
some of my inbox. However, after archiving my inbox is still showing that
the files are there. It won't let me delete them and keeps giving me errors.
I can no longer archive because Outlook "thinks" the files are still there
even though they aren't.

HELP!

Have you tried compacting the file? Right click on Outlook Today->Properties->Advanced->Compact.
