Outlook rule based on flag status?

jerrod

im not sure why, but i cannot seem to find a way to base a rule on an email
that is marked as "completed".

I have a folder marked "bill" that all emails from him go into. Once i
complete the item in the email, i want to flag it as completed, and then
moved to another folder called "bill completed".

i know i could do this using categories, but i honestly already have too
many categories as it is.

I also know that using the flags marks the email as a to-do item, but i
still should be able to base a rule on it, since it applies to an email.

Outlook rules won't work on messages already downloaded. You can do this
with a program such as Auto-Mate. See
http://www.slipstick.com/addins/auto.asp for links to it and other similar
programs.

i was able to get it to work, but i had to use a "completed" category, and i
have to run the rule manually to get it to move them to the correct folder.

thanks for the link, i will check those programs out to see if they will
automate this for me.

Correct. It will work when you use Run Rules Now.

If this is something you need often, Auto-Mate is a good investment. (I
purchased it several years ago and it was well worth the cost.)
