outlook out of office notification

Suggestion for improvement for MS Outlook/ MS Exchange.

In Outlook 2002, when the user enables the Out of Office Assistant, the
autoreply to incoming messages defaults to autoreplying once only to each
sender of e-mails.

The on-line help within Outlook suggests that receipient of the e-mails can
use Rules within the Out of Office Assistant to send replies to ALL e-mails
from senders. Hoever, this method of working will only work if Outlook is
left running on the receipients PC.

It would be beneficial if the Out of Office Assistant could allow the use to
set an option to send autoreplies to ALL incoming e-mails, irrespective of
the number of e-mails from a given sender, through MS Exchange. This
automatic reply notification would not be dependent on the receipients PC
having Outlook up and running.

This faciliity would be useful in the scenario where a person is Out of
Office for a prolonged period - i.e on holiday. The sender of the e-mail(s)
needs to be notified that the reciepient is still unavialable on Day 13 of
the period of absence, as well as at the time of the first e-mail sent (say
Day 1).

You may have misread the help file, or maybe it's not clear. There are no
conditions under which Outlook sends an OOA or Rules Wizard response to
every sender. To do so would risk setting up an infinite mail loop.
