Outlook hangs when closing

My outlook clients using Outlook2k are hanging at "please wait while outlook
exits'. They are connected to a 2003 Exchange server. It was happening
sporatically but now all clients are having the same issue. Was wondering if
Exchange SP1 will fix it. I intend to install that after some research.
