Outlook fails to start correctly within Terminal Server session

Hi,

Since a few weeks out users have been getting the following error message
from Office Outlook 2003 when the start the application within a Terminal
Server session (Windows Server 2003 environment):

"Outlook failed to start correctly last time. Starting Outlook in safe mode
will help you correct or isolate a startup problem in order to successfully
start the program. Some functionality may be disabled in this mode. Do you
want to start Outlook in Safe Mode?"

One can click Yes or No, but the problem resides. Microsoft's support
knowledgebase came up with the following article, describing the exact same
problem within a Windows 2000 Terminal Server session using Outlook 2002
(XP): http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;KO;319517.

I applied the proposed resolution, but after a while the error message
returns. We have not made any changes to the operating system (except for
Windows Update) nor other environmental changes.

Does anybody have any idea where this message comes from? Is there a remedy?

Thanks for you help!

Kind regards,

-John

Hi
Does this still happen even if you dont apply any
updates ?? Perhaps its a case of something in one of the
updates changing settings etc that you applied ? You said
that the resolution that Microsoft gave you works until
you apply some updates ?

Hi,

The problems do not start when Windows Updates are applied, the error
message just appears some time after the resolution of the Microsoft article
mentioned has been applied. I was only trying to explain the types of
changes we have made to the Terminal Server.

So, it's hard to pin point where the actual cause of this problem resides.
