When starting Outlook Error:Unable to open your default e-mail fol

I just installed Outlook 2003 and when i open it a box comes up saying
Configuring Outlook with "Migrating Account Settings" highlighted in a list.
Then an error pops up saying:
Unable to open your default e-mail folders
This error can occur if you attempt to run Outlook from a Terminal Server
session when the OST file is in use by the console session. To access this
instance of Outlook, exit the current Terminal Server session and start a new
session by using the following Run command (click Start, then click Run):
mstsc.exe /CONSOLE
You must be an administrator on the computer that is accessing the console
session. You cannot access a console session running on Microsoft Windows
2000 Server or Microsoft Windows XP Home edition. But you can from a computer
running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or Microsoft Windows XP Professional.

As far as i know i do not connect to a terminal server. My laptop is not a
workstation, it connects directly to the internet through a router at my
house. The error message only has an ok button and when you click it shuts
down outlook. In the past i have used outlook express to manage my email so
i'm not sure if that may be effecting something. Any sugestions on how to
remidy this and start the setup wizard like it does on every other computer
it's installed on?

Your laptop is indeed a workstation, but as you don't connect to a Terminal
Server/LAN/Exchange box, it doesn't make a difference. When you go to
control panel, do you see a mail icon? The first time you opened Outlook did
it ask if you wanted to import mail settings from somewhere else?

Yes there's a mail icon in the control panel. And the first time i opened outlook it did not ask if i wanted to import mail settings. it came up with an error about not being able to connect to microsoft exchange.

OK - in the control panel | mail icon, you should be able to create a new
mail profile for yourself - and then get rid of the one that doesn't work.
