I frequently receive e-mails in Outlook Express from my
vendors with illustrations(graphics)of their products.
These are e-mails that I do want to receive. Recently,
something changed - any graphics in e-mails that I
receive from vendors now appear as a red X in a box.

How can I correct this so that I am able to receive these
graphics?

By default, OE6 uses the 'restricted sites' zone for security. You can alter
this behavior either by editing the security settings of the 'restricted
sites' zone (in internet options > security) or you can configure OE to open
messages in the 'internet' zone. You do this by going to tools>options in
OE, clicking the 'security' tab and clicking the radio button for 'internet
zone'
