Images in Outlook Express

Despite the fact that I have removed the check mark in Outlook Express -
Options - Security beside "Block images and other external content..." I
still receive numerous e-mails with the little red x in the corner where
images should be located. Why don't these images show? I am using Outlook
Express 6 SP2. If I need to change security settings elsewhere, please
advise. Thanks for your help!!

Untick "Do not allow attachments ..." under the security tab.

If you send yourself an HTML message with an embedded (inserted) pic, do you
see that same thing? If not, the problem's not on your end.

If what PA Bear suggested worked and you can see the images, then it's a
possiblity that the sender has sent a link shortcut instead of an image. A red
box will appear in an email if the image is not available from the web site that
is hosting it.
A referenced image has an incorrect path and points to a non-existent image.
HTML emails with pictures embedded in them will only display if you are online
the Internet, because the pictures are downloaded from the web site as you are
reading the email.
If the graphic is from a web site which is blocked by your firewall program, it
will not display in the email.
