Outlook Express

I've posted a couple times over the last month and a half trying to figure
out why my computer is freezing. One thing is pretty consistant... Every time
I open Outlook Express the computer freezes and has to be reboot. I've gone
into the manage area of My Computer and looked for errors, but the only ones
that are there are from the 17th and the 12th and have no relevance to the
current situation. When the computer freezes, no errors are reported. I can
run Outlook Express in Safe Mode with Networking, but when the system is up
and running it inevitably locks up on me. Does anyone know how I can
troubleshoot this thing and end this ongoing headache? I'd appreciate it.

Hi,

Have you:

- run spyware/malware scans?
- run antivirus scans?
- tried the Outlook Express groups?
- reinstalled Outlook Express?
- cleared the excess files from the inbox?

I have both Adaware and Spybot on my system and run AVG free Anti-virus.

I appreciate your prompt response and will try to run though the two MS
articles you mentioned.

Thanks for your help. To answer your questions...
Have you:

- run spyware/malware scans?

Adaware, Spybot and AVG say the system is clean. I'm working off of a new
install of XP Professional. Each time I've installed it (over 4 times in the
last month) the problem still occurs.
- run antivirus scans?

see above
- tried the Outlook Express groups?

Didn't know there was one
- reinstalled Outlook Express?

Installed XP four times and re-installed Outlook Express, but come up with
the same problem
- cleared the excess files from the inbox?

When you start all over, old messages are wiped out.

Would appreciate any other advice you have to offer. Thanks again.

Ok...look like the system is clean of malware. Hopefully the clean boot
troubleshooting will pinpoint the problem.

Adaware, Spybot and AVG say the system is clean.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
