Outlook Express/sys tray

I can't find a way to get OE to run on boot-up. It's not
listed in "start-up" and doesn't look like there are any
options for this in OE's tools/options box. I was able to
do this with Win98. I'm currently running XP Home with
Outlook Express 6. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Place a shortcut to OE (C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE) in
the STARTUP subfolder of your Start Menu.
OE will not use the Systray.

There is a program called HideOE that will start Outlook at boot up and
minimize it to the systray. Works very nice. Check some shareware sites
for it.

The original message was not available on my server so I am responding
to this message since it has the answer to the start up part of the
question in it.

To send outlook to the system try you can edit the registry

Under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Preferences

create a DWORD value and name it:

MinToTray

The value of the dword will be:

1 = Minimize to system try
0 = Minimize to taskbar

This information comes from page 95 of CPU magazine April 2003. The
article says it only works with Outlook 2002.
