Outlook Error Message

We just installed our Office 2000 program (with Outlook) on our computer with
XP. Although Outlook Express 6.0 is selected as the default email program, we
keep getting an error message below no matter what program we are in, which
states:

"Either there is no default email client or the current mail client cannot
fulfill the message request. Please run Outlook and set as the default email
client"

Since Outlook Express is already selected as the default email client, is
there a way to prevent Outlook from repeatedly launching this error message?

Dave - Thanks for the article - I had tried to search the knowledge base but
didn't come up with this. However, when it says "select the subkey" after you
get to Microsoft Outlook do they mean select "Microsoft Outlook" or one of
the three subkeys below this? sorry but it is not clear to me. Thanks.

Hi Donna,
It means select Microsoft Outlook at the end of this key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail\Microsoft Outlook
without exploring further on.
If you do this, first exit all programs running.
You will need the Office Installation Disk for the Detect and Repair.
Good luck,
