Outlook 2003

I am running Office XP (2002) and have now installed Outlook 2003. How do I
set Word 2002 as my email editor in Outlook 2003, as the options are there
but I cannot select them as they are shaded grey.

You can't. The versions of Outlook and Word must be the same.
