Outlook 2003 - "X items, Y unread" in lower-left corner

Is the option to show "X items, Y unread" in lower-left corner of Outlook
2003 no longer available? I only see the number of items.

DeeW,

I have the same issue. I use public folders to manage an e-mail response
team. We deal with hundreds/thousands of e-mail per day. In Outlook 2002, I
count the daily production by using the Y unread number and then marking them
as read. It looks like they have removed this function in 2003. Now I have
to manually count a zillion e-mail manually every day. This means hours per
week as opposed to seconds. If this function has been removed, it's obvious
that whomever made the decision does not work in a high volume application of
Outlook. If anyone knows how to turn it on, I would be forever in your debt.
Otherwise, I'll have to downgrade to Outlook 2002 on my new computer.

DeeW,

I have found that if the e-mail is sorted by "Icon" (Message Class), it
will give the number of unread items in the header of the resulting list.
this works if sorted by the "From" field as well. However, any items on the
list that have a blank "From" field will not be counted in the total number.
Hope this helps...
