Outlook 2003 won't send

Outlook 2003 has stopped sending outbound emails. Both my wife and I have
the same problem--we can receive but outgoing mail sits in the outbox. We
use different computers and different ISPs. We each get slightly different
error codes: I get 0x80042109 and she gets 0x800CCC0F but the messages are
similar--can't find SMTP server. tried calling my ISP (Comcast) and they
said to change the outgoing port from 25 to 587. That didn't fix the problem
on either computer.
Is anyone else experiencing problems? Does anyone have any ideas how to fix?
Thanks!

Ask Comcast about SMTP authentication as i assume the 2 email addresses are
not comcast ones?

Did you mention this to them on your first call? Their SMTP server may only
accept emails from comcast addresses (possibly an extra layer of security
they recently added has caused this)

Just my 2cents worth! :)

Thanks, I will inquire. One email address is Comcast and the other is not;
does that change your answer?

Only slightly!

It'd be worth investigating with them why the Comcast address doesn't appear
to work... Hopefully the problem with the other address is related and fixing
1 will fix the other! :)
