Outlook 2003 problems and questions about functionality

John

I'm helping a client of mine with some odd Outlook issues and would
appreciate any and all help: ((Both PCs are running Windows XP Pro.
Both have Office 2003/Outlook 2003 with all updates applied. Both
running NAV2005))

1) It's a small office. The "server" PC (hers) is running
OfficeCalendar for syncing up his appointments onto her PC. (She's the
receptionist) When she creates new contacts in Outlook, they sometimes
disappear and end up in her deleted items folder minutes or hours
later. They don't share a PST file, just appear to be sharing the
calendar and his contacts. Any ides? I told NAV to not scan her PST
since I know that problems like this occur on Exchange Server when the
a/v program scans the M: drive.

2) When she opens Outlook and goes to CONTACTS, it defaults to HER
contact list. She has his right below hers but is there a way to make
it default to HIS contact list?

3) Same question as #2 but with Calendar.

Can somebody recommend a better program than OfficeCalendar or a
better solution?

What it boils down to is he simply wants them both to be able to
add/remove contacts and appointments and make sure the two of them are
always sync'd up. If Outlook can't do this, what's a better solution?

Also, he wants something for his call logs. Say he's out and about and
client X calls and they start talking. While he's gone, client A,B,C
and D call and leave messages with his receptionist. He gets back, he
wants to use a program that he can check and read what A,B,C and D
wanted and he can add his info about client X and when the
receptionist gets back in in the morning, she can see he talked to
client X and "checked off" that he talked to A,B,C and D and put
little notes in as to what they talked about. Any idea on a program
that can do this? I know ACT! has 'contacts' and you can update each
one with notes but I think it might be overkill.

Sorry for the cross posting but not sure which group I should ask this
in. I think we need a 'business.solutions.small.company' group. :)

Thanks!

I'd say these are issues with Office Calendar and not specific Outlook
issues. You'd possibly be better off trying their support.
There are a number of sharing alternatives. Try at

for some.
I'm trying Outlook Calendar - I'll see if I get the same issues as you and
get familiar with it.
