outlook 2003 emails not delivered for hours

ive just installed outlook 2003, running on windows xp pro with sp2.

if i send email from oe it arrives immediately. if i send from outlook it
goes out ok but is not delivered back to me for hours or days.

i have diabled antivirus and firewall but without any change.

i use freeserve as my isp

Please can you help.

just selected "ignore plug in status" in avg 7 antivirus and it now works a
treat

thought i had solved the problem by removing avg, unfortunately not, can
anyone help me.
