Outlook 2002 delay ?

L

Luuke

Hello,

Outlook 2002 (Office XP SP3) on Windows XP SP2, Exchange 2003 SP1 on
Windows 2003.
When sending a message, even a small plain text one, it stays for 10
seconds in the outbox and then is delivered (even when sent to myself).
But if I go to any Outlook folder, then it disappears from the outbox
and is delivered _immediately_.
"Send messages immediately" is checked, Instant Messaging is disabled,
XP Firewall is disabled, I stopped the antivirus and SMS services, same
situation...
Q305572 does not apply to us...

Any idea is welcome !

Thanks in advance

Luuke

I'm betting you're in cached mode. Outlook syncs cached uploads on a
15-second timer. When you change folders you force a connection to the
server and so it just goes ahead and syncs right then.

We are running Outlook 2002 : cached mod was not yet available for this
version...
Or maybe has it a different name ?
More information : I do not have any .pst file open in my profile, nor
do I have "autoarchive" enabled.

Thanks for your help.
