Outlook 2000--People assigned tasks can't see each other's notes

My boss and I are trying to set up a log by using the Task Manager in
Outlook 2000 in Corporate/Workgroup mode. I had one of my co-workers
set up a task and assign it to us.

We both accepted the task and proceeded to make updates to the task.

Problem is, neither of us can see the others' updates.

Is this the best way to handle the issue in Outlook 2000?

So how do teammates keep track of each other's progress?

Tasks assigned to multiple people don't update.
