Outlook 2000 Contacts not updating with Windows Mobile 6

I have a new HTC 6800 pda and for some reason I cannot update the contacts on
my desktop. It will sync fine with my pda but I cannot add or delete or
modify any contact on my desktop. I have removed them from my pda several
times and removed the link between the two and it is still locked up.

I can delete them all using ActiveSync 4.5 from my pda and put them back
again but they have not been updatable on my desktop since I first starting
using it a couple of weeks ago. Any contact I add to my pda will not sync
with my desktop but at least I can add them to my pda. Any suggestions? TIA

I don't think Windows Mobile 6 supports synching with Outlook 2000. You may want to post this to the microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync to verify. I think it takes at least Outlook 2002.

Thanks but I would think that if it didn't work, then it wouldn't sync at
all, and leave my Desktop contacts alone. I will post on the activesync
newsgroup. Couldn't find one so I posted here. Thanks

Thanks again for the reply. I've posted in the other newsgroup to get an
answer but there still remains the issue that I cannot update my contacts on
my desktop regardless of syncing. Is there any way to unlock the contacts?
I remember a long time ago there being a special program that can reset the
main folders within a PST file. I just can't remember the command. I used
it when using a Palm for syncing and Outlook didn't know which folders were
the main ones. Any ideas on this part? TIA

Describe the exact symptoms, including any error messages that occur.
